Perched on a rocky outcrop in the heart of the Mâconnais vineyards, Château de Pierreclos is much more than just a historic monument: it embodies a true immersion in the Burgundian art of living, combining heritage, nature, and winemaking pleasures.
📃 A site steeped in history
The château owes its name to "Petra Clausa," meaning "stone enclosure," in reference to its location on a vineyard site that has been cultivated since the 6th century. First owned by the canons of Saint-Vincent de Mâcon, then by the Benedictine monks of Cluny, it today retains its medieval charm with its square tower, vaulted cellars, and main building. Witness to nine centuries of eventful history, the château was successively a fortress, a stately home, and then a family winery, having survived wars, pillaging, and reconstruction.
🍷 A unique wine tourism experience
The château's organically cultivated winery offers a refined range of wines made from Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grape varieties, spread across nine prestigious appellations, including Pouilly-Fuissé Premier Cru, Saint-Véran, and Mâcon-Pierreclos.
Visitors can choose from several tasting options:
- Tasting in the boutique (€8): 3 white wines and 1 red, in 30 minutes.
- "Essentials" tasting tour (€15): 1 hour of sensory discovery with 2 whites and 1 red.
- The Grand Tasting (€35): 1.5 hours of food and wine pairings with 5 vintages and 3 gourmet appetizers.

The estate is managed by the Pidault family, who strive to preserve the authenticity of the site while making it accessible to all: children, people with reduced mobility, campers, and even dogs are welcome.
Game booklets are available for younger visitors for a fun and interactive visit.
